The Service is designed to be local-first. The following are stored only in your browser’s local storage or the app’s local storage on your own device, and are never transmitted to us:

• Saved or bookmarked shlokas and favourites.
• Practice and revision progress, daily goals, streaks and review history.
• Reading preferences: language selection, font size, spacing, theme, motion settings.
• Downloaded translation packs used for offline reading.
• A local copy of your most recent payment receipt, shown on the thank-you screen.

We cannot read this data. Clearing your browser’s site data, or uninstalling the app, permanently deletes it. You can also clear it yourself from the Settings screen.

Google sign-in provides account identity information such as your user ID, email address and profile details. We store trial start, payment verification and lifetime-access status linked to your account. We also collect information in these limited situations:

• Email correspondence — if you write to us for support, corrections or a legal request, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include.
• Receipt requests — if you ask us to email a copy of your payment receipt, we use the address you enter for that single email.
• Payment records — when a payment succeeds, we store the payment reference, order reference, amount, currency, whether it came from the app or website, and the date and time. These records are used for accounting, reconciliation and to answer refund queries. Access records are linked to your account ID. We do not store card, UPI or bank credentials.
• Technical logs — our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested page, user agent) for security, abuse prevention and reliability. These are kept for a short period and are not used to profile you.

Payments are processed by our payment gateway partner, Razorpay Software Private Limited. Card numbers, UPI IDs, net-banking credentials and wallet details are entered inside Razorpay’s secure checkout and are never seen, transmitted or stored by us. We receive the payment reference, order reference, amount, currency and status, which we use to confirm the payment, activate account access and issue a receipt. Razorpay processes your data under its own privacy policy and applicable RBI regulations.

We use the limited information described above only to: authenticate your account; manage trial and lifetime access; reply to your message; send the receipt you asked for; keep accurate records of payments received; prevent fraud and abuse; and comply with tax, accounting and other legal obligations. We do not use it for advertising, profiling or automated decision-making.

Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on: your consent when you send us an email or request a receipt; the performance of a contract when processing a payment you initiated; our legitimate interests in keeping the Service secure and reliable; and legal obligation for accounting and tax records.

We never sell, rent or trade personal information. We share information only with the service providers who make the Service work, and only to the extent needed: our authentication and database providers (Google and Supabase), our payment gateway (Razorpay), our email delivery provider, and our hosting and content-delivery provider. We may also disclose information if required by law, court order or a valid request from a public authority, or to protect our rights and the safety of users.

Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to resolve your query, and generally no longer than 24 months. Payment records are retained for at least eight financial years as required by Indian accounting and tax law. Technical logs are retained for a short period, typically under 90 days. Data stored on your device is retained until you delete it.

The Service is served over HTTPS. Payment records are held in an access-controlled database. Account access records are protected so users can read only their own status; payment activation is performed by verified server processes. No system can be guaranteed perfectly secure, but we keep the amount of personal data we hold as close to zero as possible, which is the strongest protection we can offer you.

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site trackers, pixels or third-party advertising profiles. The Service uses authentication session storage, the local storage described in section 2, plus an offline cache (service worker) that stores the verse content so the app works without a network.

The Service contains scriptural study material suitable for all ages and is not directed at children in a way that requires their personal data. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your country). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.

The Service is operated from India and our providers may process data in India and other countries. By using the Service you acknowledge this transfer. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards offered by our providers.

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you, to restrict or object to its processing, or to receive it in a portable form. Clear local study data from Settings. This does not delete your account or legally retained payment records. To request deletion of information held on our side, write to bhagvadgita26@outlook.com and we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

We may update this policy as the Service evolves or as the law requires. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version, and material changes will be highlighted in the app.
