Account Deletion
You can delete your Gita Shlokas account at any time, free of charge, from the app, from this website, or by email. This page explains how, what is deleted, and what we are required to keep. It applies to the Gita Shlokas Android app and gitashlokas.com, operated by Bhagavadgita Shlokas.
Want to delete your account now?
Sign in with the Google account you used, then return here or open My profile and choose “Delete my account”.
1. Delete in the app or on the website
- Open Gita Shlokas and sign in with your Google account.
- Open the menu and tap My profile (or open this page).
- Tap Delete my account.
- Type DELETE and tap Delete permanently.
Deletion happens immediately and you are signed out on that device.
2. Request deletion by email
If you can no longer sign in or no longer have the app installed, email bhagvadgita26@outlook.com from the address linked to your account with the subject “Account deletion request”. We confirm your identity, delete the account and reply within 30 days.
3. What is deleted
- Your sign-in account (Google identity, email address and user ID).
- Your trial and lifetime-access status, including access granted by an administrator.
- Settings and study data synced to your account.
- Your counts-only reading activity summary (streak, verses read, reading-circle name and size).
- Your sign-in history (when and from which kind of device you opened the app).
- Feedback messages you sent from the app.
- Any administrator notes about your account.
4. What we keep, and for how long
- Payment records — payment reference, amount, currency and date, kept for at least eight financial years as Indian accounting and tax law requires.
- A deletion record — your email address, the date of deletion and a copy of your access record at that moment, kept with the payment records to answer refund or dispute questions and to show the deletion was carried out.
- Account blocks — if an administrator blocked your email for abuse, that block remains so the address can't be used to register again.
- Technical logs — standard server logs, kept for a short period, typically under 90 days.
Any lifetime access you paid for belongs to the deleted account and can't be moved to a new account.
5. Data on your device
Saved shlokas, practice progress, journal entries and preferences are stored only on your device, not on our servers. When deleting your account you can choose to erase them from that device too. You can also clear them any time from Settings, by clearing the browser’s site data, or by uninstalling the app. Journal exports you saved yourself are not affected.
6. Deleting data without closing your account
To delete only some information — for example your activity summary — while keeping your account, email bhagvadgita26@outlook.com and tell us what you would like removed. See our Privacy Policy for your other rights.
