⭐ Why it is famous
Home to a towering white marble Shivalinga, unique among the Pancharamas for standing on the Krishna river rather than in the Godavari delta. Regional pilgrimage tradition folds this shrine into the state's graha-shanti route as the kshetra observed for Budha (Mercury).
📜 Pilgrimage history
Built on the site of the ancient Satavahana capital of Dhanyakataka, the temple has been patronised across centuries by Satavahana, Vijayanagara and later Zamindari rulers, and stands beside the Amaravati stupa remains that give the region its name.
