Why it is famous

The Śakti Pīṭha where Satī's right toes fell, its black-stone Kālī with gold tongue and eyes among the most worshipped images in India.

📜 Pilgrimage history

The present temple was completed in 1809 with Sabarna Roy Choudhury patronage; the shrine itself is far older, on an old channel of the Ādi Gaṅgā.
