⭐ Why it is famous
The highest of the twelve Jyotirliṅgas, reached by a 16 km trek from Gaurikund; it survived the 2013 floods when a boulder split the torrent behind it.
📜 Pilgrimage history
Attributed to the Pāṇḍavas and re-established by Ādi Śaṅkara in the 8th century, whose samādhi stands behind the temple.
