⭐ Why it is famous
The Divya Deśam on the Garuḍa hill where the young Vedānta Deśika is said to have received the grace of Hayagrīva after chanting his mantra — the Hayagrīva shrine on the hillock is climbed by students before examinations.
📜 Pilgrimage history
Sung by Tirumaṅgai Āḻvār, the temple beside the Garuḍa river was expanded by the Cholas. Deśika lived here and composed several of his stotras, and the temple is a centre of the Vaḍakalai Śrīvaiṣṇava tradition.
