Āpatsahāyeśvarar Temple, Alangudi
Navagraha sthala of Jupiter — Guru as teacher
⭐ Why it is famous
Guru is worshipped here as Dakṣiṇāmūrti himself, not as a separate graha. Guru Peyarchi, when Jupiter changes sign, brings lakhs of pilgrims overnight.
📜 Pilgrimage history
Also called Tirumangalakkudi in the Tevaram, the site is linked to the hālāhala poison episode — Śiva drank the poison here to save the worlds, hence Āpatsahāya, 'help in calamity'.
