Three shrines on three levels in one temple, and the story of Tirujñāna Sambandar — the three-year-old who cried by the tank, was fed milk of wisdom by Umā, and sang his first Tēvāram hymn on the spot.
📜 Pilgrimage history
A Pāḍal Peṭṛa Sthalam of great antiquity, with Chola and Nāyaka construction; the upper Sattainātha shrine, the middle Toṇiappar shrine and the Bhairavī shrine give the temple its unusual three-tier plan.
