⭐ Why it is famous
The Ketu sthala, where the serpent-bodied graha with a human face is worshipped for release from Sarpa doṣa and for spiritual detachment.
📜 Pilgrimage history
Tradition holds that Ketu, formed when the asura Svarbhānu was severed at the churning of the ocean, received grace from Śiva here. The temple lies close to Poompuhar, the ancient Chola port.
