Why it is famous

Barbarīka, grandson of Bhīma, who gave his head to Kṛṣṇa and was blessed to be worshipped as Śyām — the 'loser's support'.

📜 Pilgrimage history

The mūrti was found buried at Khatu and enshrined in 1027 CE; the temple was rebuilt in marble in 1720 by Diwan Abhaisingh.
