Sukutesvara Temple
A 10th-century Old Town shrine named for Shukra, the planet Venus.
⭐ Why it is famous
Sukutesvara stands behind the Lingaraj market complex in Old Town, its name a clear echo of Shukra (Venus). Like its neighbours Mangalesvara, Budha Deula and Sanisvara, it forms part of the graha-named cluster that gives this Bhubaneswar stretch its Navagraha flavour.
📜 Pilgrimage history
Dated to around the 10th century CE, the temple keeps up Kalinga-period observances such as Mahashivaratri, Chandipatha and Rudrabhisheka, and remains an active neighbourhood shrine rather than a tourist monument.
