Sanisvara Siva Temple
A 14th–15th century Old Town shrine to Shiva as Sanisvara, lord of Saturn.
⭐ Why it is famous
This Kalinga-style temple in Old Town Bhubaneswar carries the name Sanisvara — Shani, the planet Saturn — completing the run of graha-named Shiva shrines that includes Mangalesvara, Budha Deula and Sukutesvara nearby. It closes the loop of 'planetary' Old Town temples before the trail turns to Rahu and Ketu.
📜 Pilgrimage history
Built in the 14th–15th century, later than most of Bhubaneswar's famous early temples, it reflects the continued small-scale temple building in the Old Town quarter well after the peak Ganga-period constructions such as Lingaraj and the Rajarani.
