Mangalesvara Siva Temple
A small Old Town shrine whose very name is Mangala — Mars — worshipped here as Shiva.
⭐ Why it is famous
Standing in the dense cluster of early shrines around Bindusagar tank in Old Town Bhubaneswar, this temple's Shiva linga is worshipped under the name Mangalesvara — literally 'lord Mangala'. That naming makes it the natural anchor for the Angaraka (Mars) leg of the trail.
📜 Pilgrimage history
It belongs to the same clutch of small Kalinga-style shrines — Budha Deula, Sukutesvara, Sanisvara — scattered through Old Town's lanes, several of which carry the names of the nine grahas, reflecting how deeply planetary worship is woven into Bhubaneswar's Shaiva temple fabric.
