⭐ Why it is famous
This is a genuine, dedicated Sūrya kshetra — one of the very few Sun temples in Kerala with the graha himself as the presiding deity, not an incidental idol in a larger shrine. It draws devotees specifically for Āditya Hridayam recitations and Sun-related remedies.
📜 Pilgrimage history
The temple traces its sthala purāṇa to local Namboothiri tradition around Kaduthuruthy, an old temple town in Kottayam known for several ancient shrines. It has been maintained as a small but continuously worshipped Sūrya temple rather than a later addition to an existing complex.

- Simple queue darshan, no special ticketing for most days.
