⭐ Why it is famous
One of the seven mukti-sthalas of Tulunāḍu, where Gaṇapati stands in a silver-plated sanctum on a small hillock. Devotees offer appa (sweet) and coconut for success before new ventures.
📜 Pilgrimage history
Purāṇic tradition ties the site to sage Agastya, who is said to have performed a yajña here to end a famine; Gaṇapati appeared and gave the sword with which the asura Kumbhāsura was slain — hence Kumbāśi. The temple has been rebuilt several times, most recently in the twentieth century.
