Sri Subrahmanyeswara Swamy Temple, Mopidevi

Mopidevi Temple

Ketu · Mopidevi, Krishna · Andhra Pradesh

A swayambhu Subrahmanya shrine kept as Andhra's dedicated Ketu-graha kshetra for Rahu-Ketu shanti.

Why it is famous

The temple's swayambhu Bala Subrahmanya, said to have emerged from an anthill, is worshipped specifically for Rahu-Ketu shanti, Naga pratishtha and Kalyanam rites, making it the coastal Andhra counterpart to Srikalahasti for Ketu-graha prayers.

📜 Pilgrimage history

Local sthala purana credits four Deva Rishis — Sanaka, Sanandana, Sanatkumara and Sanatsujata — with establishing worship here; the shrine has since grown into a major Krishna-district pilgrimage centre for snake and planetary afflictions.
