The place where Narasiṃha is said to have emerged from the pillar. Nine shrines are scattered across the hills; reaching Jwala and Ugra Narasiṃha needs a trek.

Patronised from the 14th century by Vijayanagara kings; the Ahobila Maṭha, founded 1398, still administers worship.
